Land struggle by TDP on August 21

Cadre to hold padayatras to identify land distribution

It is now the turn of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to launch a land struggle from August 21. The TDP has decided to launch padayatras in the district and identify encroached, vacant, assigned and ceiling surplus lands for distribution to the eligible poor. The yatras will continue for a week from Tuesday.

Speaking to media on Saturday, the TDP urban and rural district presidents Zaheer Ahmaqd and B Satyanarayana Murty said that in the first phase, they would only identify the lands and collect applications from the eligible people. After giving time to the Government, the party would forcibly occupy the lands. They said that flags will not be hoisted but they would stand by their contention on distribution of house site pattas to the eligible persons once the TDP was voted back to power, they would launch patta distribution in a big way.

The TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu would pay a visit to Viziangaram to take party in the party programmes on Monday. The leaders said that he would arrive Visakhapatnam and and proceed to Vizianagaram . However, the date has yet to be finalized.
