Divergent views on State's bifurcation
Speakers at a debate held on Andhra Development on Monday expressed diverse opinions. Senior BJP leader K Haribabu expressed that the Telangana area was getting major share in irrigation projects and in the budget. Proposals like separate statehood and diversion of Godavari waters to Telangana region would not affect the Andhra Region as Godavari was getting enough water from its tributaries.
Former CPI MA Manam Anjaneyulu differed with Haribabu saying that mere irrigation would not help the cause and pointed out political mileage as the root cause for separate statehood. Improvement in the living standards of people would pave way for development of the State.
MLA P Sambasiva Raju, Professor G Apparao and P Vijay were present on the occasion.
