Hand Walks 5 kilometers in about 3 hours time
An eight year boy, K Goutam Kumar of Gopalapatnam created a national record by walking up his hands for five kilometers to get into the Limca Book of Records. He walked five kilometers in the wee hours on Thursday.
Goutam's 'hand walk' began at Appu Ghar near Kailasagiri in the early hours of the day. He reached Park Hotel at about 5:35 AM and ended neat the Kalimata Temple near Ramakrishna Beach at about 7:50 AM. The whole hand walk is completed within two hours and fifty minutes.
Goutam is a student of IV class and is being trained by martial arts B Pratap who supervised the marathon. Goutam is trained for about 6 months to perform the feet. Earlier the Visakhapatnam I MLA Dronamraju Srininivasa Rao flagged off the event. Several Officials and large number of people witnessed the event and congratulated Goutam Kumar. Walkers and Joggers at the Beach cheered the lad who hand-walked his way to the records book.
