Better Visakha urges VUDA to cancel auctions

Says construction activity on the hills will affect the scenic beauty

The Forum for Better Visakha has demanded the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority to cancel the auction of bulk land business class plots in layout sites located on hills around the city.

The coordinator of the Forum for Better Visakha and former Energy Secretary EAS Sarma referred to an advertisement of the VUDA declaring that sites of Madhurawada, Yendada, Narellavalasa, Vemulavalasa, Rushikonda, and Kapuluppada layouts would be put to auction said that most of these sites were located on the hills around the city.

He said that FBV has cautioned VUDA time and again not to allow construction activity on the hills as it will not only affect the scenic beauty but alos have long term ecological implications that adversely affect the citizens.
