Demands for early settlement of their long pending demands
Teachers having allegiance to the AP United Teachers' Federation will stage a dharna opposite the District Collector's Office on Wednesday to press for an early settlement of their long pending demands.
UTF district general secretary, N Subba Rao alleged the failure of the Government in taking a decision on uniform service rules was affecting transfers, promotions and appointment of new teachers.
He said that thousands of vacant posts were not appointed even after a year of completion of D.S.C. There were no recruitments in municipal schools for the past seven years. Their other demands include declaration of uniform service rules for teachers of government, Panchayat Raj, Tribal and Municipal Schools and granting of promotions to them and removal of ban on recruitment and promotions in aided schools, sanctioning of posts and granting of notional increments for SC and ST teachers.
