NMU stages dharna

The APSRTC National Mazdoor Union on Thursday staged a dharna opposing the move of the Corporation to hire private buses and demanded cancellation of the tenders called for the purpose.

The NMU leaders addressing their workers said that the move was in contravention of the minutes approved by a Cabinet Sub Committee comprising Ministers Konatala Ramakrishna and J Ramamohana Rao which says that the contract would be cancelled after the expiry of the term of hire. They urged the government to intervene in the issue and get the tenders to hire 50 buses in each district cancelled.
