Tribal areas found to be more prone
The dengue is fast spreading its tentacles in three North Coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh. The tribal areas in particular are found to be easily prone. Though the official statistics cite few incidents, more cases are surfacing day by day in different parts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts.
According to officials sources, two deaths and 16 cases are registered in the North Coastal districts of the state. However, the number may be high as there is no information on how many were admitted in to private hospitals and only those who are admitted at the King George Hospital (KGH) are taken into account.
The District Medical and Health Officer said that seventeen teams were constituted in association with the Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation (GVMC) to check the spread of dengue. One lakh nets will be distributed in the tribal areas which are yet to come.
