ACB officials puzzle over phone calls
The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials who sacked on Saturday the Rural SP JG Murali on the charges of misappropriating properties and for misusing power and authority has led the Visakhapatnam Range DIG Jitendra to take Additional Charge as Superintend of Police (Rural) in Visakhapatnam until further orders.
Meanwhile, the ACB officials who are probing the alleged involvement of Murali are facing quaint problems. They are receiving endless call on their mobile phones everyday. The head of the operations of the ACB who is in Visakhapatnam overlooking the investigation has received as many as 400 calls on his mobile phone in the last two days. The officials are receiving calls from the public about the corrupt officials in various departments as their contact numbers were published in media to seek information in connection with the case. According to one ACB official say that nearly forty percent of these calls were against the corrupt officials of other departments.
In connection with Murali's case, the officials of the ACB questioned two circle inspectors and some Revenue and police officials. The ACB officials are confused over the land disputes and various other cases. It may take some time to identify the genuine documents from the fake ones sources say.
