Dharnas held at major traffic points
The state-wide bundh called by organizations representing Other Backward Castes was observed in the city. Normal life was partially disrupted. With almost all major political parties supporting the bundh, party supporters disrupted traffic in various parts of the state.
Bus traffic was almost completely suspended and people restored to autos to reach to their destinations. Tight police security at bus depots to ensure that no damage is done to buses. APSRTC's loss due to the bundh is at about Rs. 40 Lakhs. Almost 20 film theaters were shut down. The Andhra University campus remained mum as various examinations were postponed. Various Departments and colleges of the University remained closed. Business transactions came to a halt for the day.
