Visakhapatnam, April 30, 2007

First of its kind Security system in the country

The Chairman & Managing Director, Y. Siva Sagar Rao on Monday inaugurated a 13km long solar power fencing security system and closed circuit video monitoring system at the plant area to prevent intrusion and also as a security measure to the equipment. He said that this is the first of its kind in the history of steel industry.

The entire fence will run with fibre glass poles and SS wire. The fence shall carry high voltage impulses that give a non-lethal shock to any intruder who comes in contact with the wires. An alarm will be activated and transmitted to the central monitoring units. The fence works with solar power with battery backup and in case of rains for indefinite period, the system works with AC power.
