Rallies and meetings mark the occasion
Rich tributes are paid to Bharat Ratna BR Ambedkar on his 116th birth anniversary by various public sector undertakings, educational institutions, organizations and associations on Saturday. In Andhra University, Rector B Satyanarayana garlanded a bust of bust of Ambedkar at the AU College of Law and offered tributes. Among others present are AU Registrar P Vijay Prakash, Executive Council members.
CPM district leader KM Srinivas garlanded a portrait of Dr.Ambedkar. Union president V Dhanraju demanded the implementation of the recommendations of Justice Punnayya Commission. BJP Party State president Bandaru Ranga Mohana Rao and state Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha president VN Madan distributed fruits and bread to patients at KGH.
SC/ST welfare Association leader Arun Kumar participated as chief guest at a programme organized at the Dwaraka Bus Station Complex. He recalled the role of Ambedkar in alleviating the sufferings of dalits. APSRTC Regional Manage N Venkaeswara Rao presided the function.
