Part to come up at an estimated cost of around Rs. 32 lakhs
The much awaited Children Traffic Training Park was laid by the Chairman and Managing Director of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) Y. Siva Sagar Rao and Police Commissioner VSK Kaumudi at VUDA Park on Sunday. The park is constructed in 2.7 acre land with an estimated cost of Rs. 32 lakhs. VSP will be a sponsorer for the park. The main objective is to develop infrastructure and provide training for students on various aspects of traffic rules and regulations. He presented a cheque for Rs. 4 lakhs to the Commissioner for police dispensaries at Pedagantyada and Karasa.
Speaking on the occasion, Police Commissioner Kaumudi said the training park would be completed in about five months. He further said that the Police Department has conducted several traffic awareness programmes in 193 schools covering 49 percent of students in the city. DCP (Law and Order) KV Venugopal Rao, DCP (Traffic) P. Viswaprasad, top officials of VSP participated on the occasion.
