Major share to go for priority sectors
The annual credit pan of Visakhapatnam district for 2007-08 with a total outlay of Rs.2668.54 crore was released at the District Consultative Committee (DCC) at a meeting on Tuesday. A Sum of Rs.1847 crore was allocated to priority sectors including Rs. 691.21 crore for agriculture. An allocation of Rs. 907.57 crore was made for other sectors that include business, housing and education.
Releasing the plan, the District Collector AK Singhal said that the allocation for the priority sector was 32 percent higher than last year's Rs.1400 crore. Lead Bank district manager CJ Seshu Babu of State Bank of India said the credit plan outlay was 36 percent more than that of last financial year.
