To become the largest apparel exporter

According to a press release, Brandix, the Sri Lankan textile giant which is developing an Apparel City in Visakhapatnam has been confirmed as the largest apparel exporter for 2006-07 by Sri Lankan Export Development Board.

According to a release, with a consolidated turnover of $320 million, Brandix has become the highest ranked apparel sector player among the top six exporters. Over the last three years, it invested Rs. 6.6 billion in expanding operations in Sri Lanka. Investments amounting to Rs. 3.5 billion are in the pipeline in the new financial year.

Brandix formed a joint venture with Quantum Clothing Group, UK and Lanka Equities (Pvt) Limited to establish Stevensons Lanka (Pvt) Limited to establish garment dyeing operations at the Biyagama Export Processing Zone. It is equipped with state of the art machinery for dyeing cotton garments as well as softer garments.
