Sandeep Gokule, Director of Business Development, JSW Aluminium said that the Aluminium Refinery Complex to be set up by Jindal Group at Srungavarapukota that costs Rs. 9000 crore project is awaiting the forest and environmental clearance before commencement of construction works.
Speaking to media on Sunday, he said that the Jindal Group believes in hundred percent transparency in every deal and brushed off the reports in a section of the press that there was no transparency in the operations nor were the people taken into confidence on the project. He said a public hearing in this regard is due, the Jindal group is sensitive to the land prices and would offer a decent package. He pointed out that 87 percent of the lands alloted to Jindal belongs to assigned lands and only 13 percent including farmers and only 50 families would be displaced the project.
He further said that the AP State Mineral Development Corporation will do the bauxite mining for the Jindal as per MoU entered into with the State Government. The 60 million bauxite deposits at Araku is sufficient to meet the Jindal Aluminium project plant requirements for 15 years to come. The company will have direct employment of nearly 750 and an indirect employment of another 1200 through ancillary units of the plant.
