VUDA Master Plan released
The Minister for Commercial Taxes, Konatala Ramakrishna said on Saturday that the State Government was against acquisition of agricultural and for Special Economic Zones (SEZs). He said the same at a function after inaugurating south zone conference of Institute of Town Planners (India). Delegates from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala attended the conference held on the theme 'Planning issue in minion plus cities in the light of SEZs'.
He said after releasing the Master Plan 2021 brought out by the VUDA, the city an its suburbs had a good scope for growth. In the next coming years, Rs.6000 crores would be invested in infrastructure like roads and bridges in the city. He said that the Chief Minister was focusing on the development of Visakhapatnam. He added that as of now, 9600 acres of land had been acquired for SEZ coming up at Atchutapuram. ITPI president DS Meshram presided over the function.
