Focuses on development of masses

Launching of Telugu daily newspaper Visalandhra 4th Edition on Friday, CPI General Secretary AB Bardhan stressed the need to improve the living conditions of peasants who continue to endure social and economic deprivation. He said focus ought to be laid on alleviating the plight of the masses whose lives remained in turmoil long after country achieved Independence.

He strongly criticized the Centre for harping on the FDI theme and suggested not to barter the country's pride for economic gains. Proposals to throw the mines sector open to FDI would have disastrous consequences he said and asserted the Communist parties would fight such anti people policies in tooth and nail.

Union Minister for State for Mines T Subbirami Reddy, CPI Politburo member Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, Visalandhra editor E.Nageswarao and others participated on the occasion.
