Hanumantha Rao says anti-student steps has led downfall of previous government
The Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao speaking to media said that if the Government doesn’t provide adequate financial support for the SC, ST and BC students, the very purpose of reservation is defeated. He demanded hike in scholarships to SC, ST and BC students.
He said that the anti student policies of the previous Government was responsible for the landslide victory of the Congress both at the State and at the Centre and the State Government should give a better deal to students from the backward sections. He said lack of financial help for education was driving the students to extremist activities and he would present a memorandum to party chairperson Sonia Gandhi at the Chief Minister’s meeting to be held in Mussorie.
