Bench to have jurisdiction over nine districts

An Additional Bench of Sales Tax tribunal with jurisdiction over nine districts of coastal area would start functioning from September 18, 2006 according to the Chairman of the ST Appellate Tribunal and District Judge of the Additional Bench of the Tribunal K Sanjeeva Rao Naidu who said on Thursday

He said that the State Government and the High Court had approved setting up of an additional bench in April. The Bench would deal in settling disputes pertaining to Sales tax, Professional Tax, luxury tax and entry tax and would cover nine districts right from Srikakulam to Nellore. He said that 5576 cases were pending in this area and fifty five cases would be taken every day.
