Involvement in by poll Visakhapatnam I election disturbances
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) rural district president Bandaru Satyanarayana Murty surrendered in the chief metropolitan magistrate court on Monday and obtained anticipatory bail to preempt his arrest in connection with the disturbances during the by election for Visakhapatnam I Assembly constituency. He was accused of beating Congress workers during the campaign for the by polls.
The Magistrate GS Mohan Rao granted bail to the former MLA and Pendurti ZPTC R Narayana Rao and posted the case for further hearing on September 15 setting off jubilation in the TDP camp. It may be recalled that the PS Naidu, who; was suspended from TDP for alleged anti party activities argued the case on behalf of Satyanarayana Murty who executed a bond for Rs. 10,000 and attended sureties.
