162 posts of various cadres were vacant

Andhra University (AU) issued orders for recruitment of 162 posts of associate professors, assistant professors and professors on Monday. The decision was taken during the AU Executive committee meeting held on Monday.

The meeting was chaired by the AU Vice Chancellor L.Venugopal Reddy. Out of 176 regular posts, 144 posts were filled while another 18 backlog posts out of 42 were filled. The Vice Chancellor said that 52 teachers were promoted as associate professors and professors under the career advancement scheme. Another 150 teaching posts will be filled soon in addition to the present 55 vacant posts.
