Loss to theaters comes to Rs.2 lakhs per day
The Visakhapatnam Cine Exhibitors Association observed bandh on Sunday in all the 120 theatres in the district as they were hurt by the closure of notices served by the district administration. Association secretary TP Anantham speaking to media said that the bandh will continue till the Joint Collector Sandeep Kumar Sultania changed his approach towards theatre owners. He said due to bandh the loss to theatres and distributors comes to Rs.2 lakhs and 20 lakhs respectively. The association will submit a memorandum to the District Collector AK Singhal on Monday.
He said that cinema hall owners are on the war path following suspension of the licences of Sri Rama Talkies, Raj Kamal, Poorna and three other theatres on the charge of not having adequate provision for potable drinking water, fire fighting equipment and other grounds.
