The leaders garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi
Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated by various organizations with a call to emulate the principals of the Father of the Nation. An all religion prayer meeting was held near the Statue of Mahatma Gandhi opposite to Grater Visakha Municipal Corporation (GVMC). The Union Minister of State for Mines T.Subbarami Reddy, Minister for Commercial taxes Konathala Ramakrishna, MLAs and top dignitaries were present on the occasion.
The leaders garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. At a meeting organized at Andhra University (AU) on Monday, former Minister and Gandhian Bhattam Sriramamurthy who was the chief guest recalled the contribution of Gandhi. A meeting was organized by the Living Organization Rural Development Society (LORDS) at HB Colony. The former deputy Mayor M.Appala Raju was the chief Guest.
