Nearly two hundred students participated in the dharna
The students of MA (Education) on Tuesday took out a rally and staged a dharna at the administrative building of the Andhra University demanding the authorities to get recognition for their course from National Council of Teacher’s Education (NCTE).
They alleged that the authorities did not bother to get the NCTE recognition which is mandatory to write the DSC examinations. The NCTE recognition is mandatory for MA students as per new norms and standards of the NCTE. The agitating students alleged that the university authorities failed to get recognition. But the officials maintained that they were taking steps for getting recognition. Nearly two hundred students pursuing the course from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam participated in the dharna programme.
