Subscribers have to pay Rs.5 for services from next month
The Master Signal Operators (MSOs) had held discussions with the authorities of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) over the dispute over entertainment tax and settled the issued.
The cable operators have called off their strike and resumed services following an agreement to collect Rs. 5 from next month onwards towards entertainment tax. According to the agreement the GVMC would be able to generate Rs.8 lakhs every month. There are nearly 1.5 lakh cable connections with about 300 area operators working under six master signal operators including Internet service providers in the city.
