Introduction of second option on pension scheme among other issues
In response to the call given by the United Forum of Bank Unions consisting of five workers’ unions and four officers’ organizations representing the total work force will on a day’s strike according to the convener of UFBU, Visakhapatnam Chapter SN Sahu. According to him, the strike is called for introduction of second option on pension scheme while rejecting the scheme proposed by the Government, implementing compassionate appointment scheme, commencement of recruitment of employees and officers, opposing of any merger steps or acquisition in the public sector and other issues.
Nearly 3000 employees and officers belonging to various public and private sector banks would hold a demonstration before the SBH at LIC building, he said. The CPI (M) while extending support to the banks’ strike, it deplored the moves for outsourcing work in 1100 clearing houses run by one lakh employees and described it as a conspiracy to further downsize banks said the party city secretary K Lokanadham.
