Control rooms opened to disseminate health information
On Wednesday, an exclusive out patient ward for those suffering from viral fevers has been opened at King George Hospital (KGH). Nearly 30 fever cases have been reported and they were given treatment in the newly opened ward.
A few suspected dengue cases were reported in private hospitals but not a single case was confirmed officially. Officials intensified mosquito control operations throughout the district, especially in agency areas which are highly vulnerable to this disease. The medical authorities are focusing on valley and hilly tribal regions of Araku, Paderu, Chintapalle, GK Veedhi and other agency areas in Visakhapatnam district.
Meanwhile, the Medical and Health department has intensified their publicity campaign against fevers. It opened a control room in the office of the Medical and Health Officer with phone numbers 0891-2551717 and 250840 to keep track of the situation and rush emergency medical assistance to the needy.
