Drug Control Administration alerts doctors, chemists and hospitals
The Drug Control Administration (DCA) has advised doctors, patients, chemist and hospitals not to prescribe or use Wosulin 50/50 (monocomponent insulin) of bach No. LF 10492 manufactured by Wockhardt Limited of Aurangabad in March 2006 with expiry date of February 2008 as it was noticed the insulin was in water form for injection instead of suspension form.
In a press release on Thursday, the Drugs Inspector of DCA said all distributors and chemists should withdraw the stocks from the market and inform the same to the DCA. Investigation on the insulin was carried out following complaint.
