Keshava Rao speaks with media on SEZ
The Special Economic Zone (SEZs) Parliamentary Coordination Committee member and PCC President K. Keshava Rao on Tuesday said that a foolproof mechanism to acquire and assign lands for the SEZs should be devised.
Speaking to media on Tuesday, he said the Parliamentary Committee was examining a proposal of providing share to land owners in the companies to be set up in SEZs. Apart from compensation and share in the company, provision of employment to a member of the displaced families also being considered. He said that acquisition of agricultural lands should be avoided to the maximum extent and waste lands should be utilized for the purpose. He clarified that the assigned lands to persons have no right to sell.
