Youth urged to take active role in the drive

The Chairman and Managing Director of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Y. Siva Sagar Rao inaugurated the South India Aids Awareness Campaign Programme on Thursday that was organized by HIMA Humanitarian Association at Pydah College.

Speaking on the occasion, he urged and stressed the youth the need to take active role of the youth in spreading AIDS awareness as was spreading its tentacles around the world at a fast pace. He added that nearly 22 million people had lost their lives due this deadly AIDS.

He observed that due to lack of ignorance, poverty and lack of awareness, nearly 6000 people were loosing their lives every day around the world. He urged the youth, teachers and doctors to contribute their mite to check this menace. He complimented the Pydah Educational Academy for taking initiatives in organizing AIDS awareness programmes among the youth and appreciated the Vizag Profiles Limited for sponsoring the programme.
