VMA instituted the award in memory of MS Subba Lakshmi

The noted vocalist Jayasri Ramnath will be presented MS Subbalakhsmi Puraskar at Kala Bharati Auditorium on November 29, 2006 by the Visakhapatnam Music Academy (VMA). The VMA instituted the award last year in memory of legendary vocalist MS Subba Lakshmi. The award carries Rs. 10,000 and a memento and a citation.

Jayasri won many titles and awards including Sangeeha Chododamani, Nada Bhushanam, Kalki Award, Isai Peroli, Yuva Kala Bharti, and many more and now a new feather in her cap is MS Subba Lakshmi Puraskar.
