To take up padayatras from December 12
The Chintapalle MLA and president of Andhra Pradesh Tribal Council Demudu warned the Government that massive agitation and pada yatras would be taken up if the government gifts bauxite mining to Jindal Company through back door methods.
Speaking at a meeting as part of anti bauxite agitation, he made it clear that the clearance from the Tribal Advisory Committee is mandatory along with the acceptance of the village and mandal sabhas before extracting bauxite. CPI district secretary JV Satyanarayana Murty found fault with plebiscite which was conducted in Visakhapatnam after acquiring 1700 acres land to set up Jindal unit and Government Refinery in the villages near Sabbavaram. He said padayatra would be taken up from December 12 to 17 in Araku and Anatagiri mandals which are rich in bauxite reserves.
