VHP said it is a violation of Law
Following a complaint by the Viswa Hindu Parishad (VHP), a public meeting organized by Christian Missionaries at the Municipal Stadium ended abruptly. VHP alleged that the organizer, who belongs to Australia, violated the law which prohibits foreign tourists from conducting and addressing such meetings. Sources close reveals that VHP activist objected the religious meeting which was to be addressed by John Carter who was here on a tourist visa.
According to press release, the VHP Visakha Vibhag president TP Venkateswara Rao said foreign tourists should not conduct public meetings and they should use tourist visas only for tourism, sports, recreation or religious pilgrimage but not for canvassing or holding religious meetings.
