France becomes first to constitute database of visa seekers
From Tuesday onwards, people seeking French visas should comply with the newly introduced biometric authentication in the office of the Consulate General of France at Mumbai. This is the first country in European Union which adopted the system following the EU’s decision to constitute a database of visa seekers. The system is meant for greater reliability of security checks in the context of the international flight against terrorism.
Biometric visas holders will be allowed in special access corridors in the airports in Paris, Lyon and Marseille. Every visa applicant commissioned by applicant must take an appointment from the Visa Facilitation Service in Mumbai on phone number 022-66314000.
