3632 pulse polio immunisation booths setup
In a massive drive to eliminate pulse polio, as many as 3632 Pulse Polio Immunisation (PPI) booths and 104 mobile teams were deployed. Over 4.6 lakh children are administered Pulse polio drops as a part of this drive. The drops were administered to children in the age group of 0 to 5. Mobile and transist teams covered the airport, railway station, RTC complex and tourism spots such as the Rama Krishna Beach, VUDA Park and the Kalasagiri hills.
Minister for Commercial Taxes Konathala Ramakrishna, Minister for Roads and Buildings J Ramamohana Rao, District Collector AK Singhal, MLAs Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao and Tippala Gurumurthy and the officials in the District and Municipal Administration were present at various programs related to the PPI drive.
Over 1500 volunteers participated to administer the immunisation drops in the Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation (GVMC) limits according to the Chief Medical Officer MS Raju.
