Seminar on Investments in Tourism sector held
The Vice Chairman of the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) G Venkataram Reddy presented a speech at the seminar on Investment opportunities in tourism sector in Andhra Pradesh being organized by the Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (APCCI). Since Visakhapatnam has a beautiful coastline of about 141 kilometers, there is a huge potential for the city to become a tourism hub for the state.
Reddy said that better infrastructure and air-connectivity will boost the tourism in the district. He quoted the example of San Francisco where 50 percent of the area in the metropolitan region is runs through the coastline.
Tourism Minister J Geeta Reddy who is expected to inaugurate the seminar could not make it owing to a flight problem. FAPCCI President CV Atchut Rao highlighted the need for the quick development of the Visakhapatnam-Bheemili road. FAPCCI Tourism Development Committee Chairman Shiv Kumar Rungata stressed the need for a new tourism policy from the State Government.
