Chief of Naval Staff reviews parade at Investiture ceremory

Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Arun Prakash reviewed a parade at an investiture ceremory held at the INS Circar Grounds in Visakhapatnam. Vice-Admiral Sureesh Mehta, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Naval Command were also present.

The President's Nao Sena Medal for Gallentry and other medals were present at the investiture ceremory.

Speaking to the reporters, Admiral Arun Prakash said that an additional Naval Base would come in Visakhapatnam. He said that the base would stretch to an extent of 5000 acres to the south of Visakhapatnam. He said that Visakhapatnam hosts th Submarine Arm Headquarters and the Marine Commandos Training Center of the Indian Navy. He felt that the entrance to the port is narrow and hence the need for the additional base. Talks are already on in regard to this and that the Government of Andhra Pradesh is positive on the topic, he said.
