Minimum guarantee for Urban STDs reduced

According to a press release issued by the Visakhapatnam Telecom Divisional (VTD) General Manager T Ganta, that the minimum guarantee for urban STD and ISD PCOs has been reduced to Rs.600 from the existing Rs.800 and to Rs.100 from Rs.600 in rural areas.

The release said that the Commission for local and CCB public telephones was calculated as percentage on call charges and it was 30 paise per call. It also revised as 30 paise per metered call unit (MCU) up to 800 MCU per month and Rs.0.325/MCU for above 800 per month. In another release, Ganta said that all public telephone franchisees have to display telephone numbers of local JTO/SDE and names in places as per the instructions of the Telecom Advisory Committee.
