Journalist and Media forums comes our with awareness programs

Right to Information Act is the right of citizens and not a a charity on the part of the officials to provide the same said former Energy Secretary EAS Sarma on Friday. Inspite of the RIA came into force for nine months ago, many people were not aware of their right to have information.

The Vizag Journalists Forum, the Forum for Better Visakha and the centre for Media Studies (New Delhi) are organizing a week long awareness camp on the Act from July 1.

Prominent personalities including the Commissioner of Right to Information Commissioner R.Dlilip Reddy and volunteers would visit some ares in the city and explain them about the Act. The venues are RTC Complex and Central Jail were among them where awareness programmes would be held.
