Cases at medical camps on the rise

With the increase of high fever patients turning up, the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has decided to launch an anti mosquito drive from Saturday to effectively counter the problem. Cases of fever was reported in medical camps in 105 slums beginning June 16 ranged to 140 to 170 every day according to sources.

District Collector AK Singhal and Municipal Commissioner N.Srikanth visited some of the localities affected and reviewed the measures being taken to tackle the problem. As an immediate measure the GVMC has decided to purchase 10 sprayers. The spraying which will formally begin on Saturday and continue for the next ten days.
