District and Municipal Administration begins taking steps

The District Collector, AK Singhal said on Saturday that the viral was rampant in the city and would be brought under control within a week. A survey of fifteen localities covering a population of 10,740 revealed 632 cases of fever. The incidence of fever is 16 per cent more compared to last year. However, no chikungunya case was reported.

The District Collector said in a press conference along with the Municipal Commissioner, N.Srikanth said that preventive measures being adopted and were were spraying would be done within the houses too, spraying anti larvae oil ad gambusia fish. Twenty tonnes of garbage was removed by de-silting 32 geddas passing through the city. He said fifteen Urban Health Centres were conducting medical camps in crucial areas and so far 7300 people were tested at these camps and 1470 cases of fever detected.
