The burglars made a vain bid to loot Andhra Bank, Andhra University Engineering College branch in the wee hours of Saturday. According to sources, the burglars gained entry into the bank from the backyard by drilling a hole through the wall. They paralyzed the alarm system by cutting the cables. Their attempts to break open the lockers failed.
