Visakhapatnam added in the list Phase I list of gas through pipelines
Visakhapatnam has been included in the first phase of connecting seven districts with the gas pipeline from the Krishna Godavari basin, Commercial Taxes Minister Konathala Ramakrishna said on Saturday. The Chief Minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy during his meeting with the Reliance Company, which is exploiting gas depots in the basin , the city was included in the first phase, he told to the press.
The Chief Minister made the Reliance to agree to the condition that gas would be supplied to other States from the K-G basin only after meeting the requirements of the State. LPG fro domestic purpose and industrial gas would be supplied to the district through a pipeline. Compressed natural gas might also be supplied along with two gases. The Minister said that the gas from KG basin would give a boost to the industrial activity of the district.
