Fellowship in HIV Medicine presented to Phanender

State Nodal Officer for Control of AIDS K.Phanender has received the prestigious fellowship in HIV Medicine from the Vellore-based Christian Medical College and Hospital. The award of fellowship was presented to him at the CMC Medical College in Vellore recently.

Dr.Phanender, a chest specialist in ESI hospital at Malkapuram speaking to reporters said that he had pointed out in his research paper submitted to CMC Vellore that majority of the HIV and AIDS patients in north coastal districts suffered more from chest diseases. He said that he counseled and screened 2706 patients and 85 of the tested HIV positive ad 30 per cent had a cluster designation cells count below 200. He thanked the ESI hospital Superintendent SV Pramila for allowing him to utilize the equipment and the HIV Care team.
