New product expected to increase BSNL Market Share
Visakhapatnam Telecom District General Manager J.Ganta said on Friday while launching Excel Anant said that Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) that the problems that are being faced by some cell phone customers would be solved with the commissioning of all the cell towers required for the city by March. Five towers had been commissioned recently and seven would be commissioned during February. He said that Excel Anant, BSNL’s new lifetime incoming free pre paid SIM Card would benefit more customers.
He said that BSNL has 30% market share in cell connections Visakhapatnam. The number of cell connections has gone up by 26,000 during this financial year. At present, the BSNL has 56,000 cell connections. Forty more towers would be erected during this year I the telecom district area at a cost of Rs.16 crores. He said that the broadband Internet connections to a tune of 27,000 had been given and 600 more applications are on the wait list. The new telephone directory would be released in the month of February.
