Doorstep Banking is believed not to be too far
The Bank of India has decided to launch ‘doorstep banking’ as part of its centenary celebrations. The public sector bank, which has 2600 branches in the country and 23 branches/offices in the US, Japan and other countries will earmark exclusively 1500 personnel for pick up and delivery of cash and cheques at the doorstep of its clients.
The Bank of India Chairman and Managing Director M.Balachandran told reporters on Thursday that the members of the marketing team would be designated as relationship officers for apprising the customers of various products offered and analyze the feedback. He said that the centenary celebrations which began in September last had resolved to focus more on customer needs. He said that the bank had sanctioned eight lakh kisan credit cards to help the farmers.
