PDSU opposes four-year degree program
The Progressive Democratic Students Union (PDSU) has called for Chalo Andhra University on Thursday opposing the reported decision to introduce four year degree courses and semester system of examination. The four year degree course is proposed to be introduced in private and autonomous colleges to prepare the ground for the entry of foreign universities and such a move will be disadvantageous for poor students and those belonging to SC,ST and BC categories said PDSU State President K.Bhumayya.
Nearly 500 students from colleges in Andhra University area will take out a rally from the Railway Station and stage a dharna at the Vice Chancellor’s office. The WTO regime, which came into force from 2005 allowed for investments in the services sector to facilitate which the State Government was ready to bring out a bill paving the way for the entry of foreign universities he said.
