Rs. 6 Lakhs and a Maruti Car Looted

In a series of offenses, six armed men looted three houses at Rambilli in the district in the early hours of Tuesday injured a man and decamped with valuables worth Rs.6 lakhs including a Maruti Zen car. The men armed with knives andiron rods broke into the house of Yellamanchili MLA UVRM Raju (Kanna Babu) by forcing open the rear door. They tied up the inmates and took away Rs.2 lakhs in cash and gold ornaments weighing 18.5 tolas from the almirahs.

Later, the gang attacked the house of Rambilli Upa Sarpanch and took away six and half tolas of gold ornaments. The Superintendent of Police VV Srinivasa Rao rushed to the spot in the morning and investigating the case.
