Visakhapatnam to be dazzled with Naval display
For the first time in its history, Visakhapatnam will wake up to a dazzling display of the Navy’s might. Civilians can witness the three day Presidential Fleet Review which formally got off to an impressive start on Saturday as President APJ Abdul Kalam reviews the Navy’s strength on Sunday. The review is being held at Visakhapatnam, the headquarters of the Eastern Naval Command for the first time. Mumbai, the headquarters of the Western Naval Command played host to the PFR on the last eight occasions.

Among foreign dignitaries present will envoys from South Africa and Russia. The President is to review the Navy’s fleet anchored off the Ramakrishna Beach between 9.15 am to 11.45am. On Monday, he will present the President’s Colour to the Eastern Fleet and leave for Delhi.
