Galaxy of film and sports stars to take place

Nearly 25,000 Vizagites are expected to participate in the ‘Vizag Run’ scheduled to be flagged off near Kali Temple at RK Beach on December 24, 2006 at 7am. A galaxy of film and sports stars will grace the occasion. At a press conference on Thursday, VUDA Chairman PSN Raju stressed the need and importance of running and hoped that the event would enthuse people of all ages to make it a habit in their lives.

He said that the participants have to attend the programme half an hour before the commencement and park their vehicle in the parking lots provided beside NTR Statue, Hotel Taj Residency. Traffic will be regulated on the Beach Road to Appu Ghar between 5am and 11 am. First aid, ambulance, water and mobile guard facilities are being made available during the course of the run. Participants have to collect ‘participation certificates’ at Viswapriya Function Hall and Swarnabharati Indoor Stadium after completion of the programme. They can enroll on the spot at counters by paying Rs. 30 each that fetches a bid number and Rs. 150 for registration and for children Rs. 10 to be paid.
